Ed Kovac signed with the Detroit Tigers baseball club in 1965 as a first baseman at 18 years old.
In 1966 the Tigers awarded him the most “Outstanding Rookie”, for his overall play, but particularly for his power at the plate. Ed played alongside the championship 1968 Tigers team.
Ed is also well known for playing & managing for the Essex and Union County semi pro Baseball teams in the 1970’s.
He was inducted into the Union County Baseball Hall of Fame in 2004.
Ed’s hitting instruction experience stems from a personal lesson from Ted Williams.
He continuously studies styles, drills and other effective ways to teach hitting to young players.
Using his unique approach of “Effortless Power” Ed has been effective to many amateur and professional hitters for over 40 years.
